Differentiation

It is imperative that both cross cultural and diverse learners need to be considered when designing learning activities. Mixed ability groupings and visuals can be used support EALD and students with a disability. Indigenous students learn maths kinaesthetically; therefore require hands on, movement based activities (Siemon, Beswick, Brady, Clark, Faragher, & Warren, 2011). Consideration must also be given to designing learning tasks that allow for multiple modes for students to represent their knowledge (graphic, oral or written) and the inclusion of ICT tools.
